Work experience

From the 4th, April to the 2nd May. I went to the restaurant to be the waiter. My job was to carry the food to the customer. The manager told me that I should be polite to the customer. Made them have the warm memory. So they will come back to our restaurant again.
I remembered when I first day to worked in the restaurant; I had no ideal about this work. I did know how to do it. The manager told mw carefully. First, you should take the ticket from the ticket office. Second, you could know which food did the customer wanted to eat. Then you can carry the food to the customer. So it was just my job. For a short time, I did it very well. It was easy for me to do it... Many customers commended me to do a good job. I felt very happy and successful about it, because I worked very hard.. A sense of accomplishment often accompanies hard effort. At this time, I could know the meaning of this sentence. But happy time was always very short, one time; I put the soup into the people’s clothes. He felt very angry and he asked me to give 200 RMB to solve this problems. He said this money was to clean the clothes. I felt very hypocritical, because at that time, other customer shoved me. So the soup falls down. I wanted to stop it, but I had less time. I explained to him, but he did not care about it. At this time, the manager used 100RMB to solve this problem. The manager said if he did not agree with him, he will call 110. so the customer agreed this plan. So I thank my manager’s help. I will remember it forever.
From this work. I had a lot of feeling. Such as success, sadness and desperation. I thought it was one part in my life. It can make me grow up quickly. It made me know that don not be afraid of the problems. Make the big problem to the small problem and solve the small problem. You will surmount the problem. Next time, you will feel it is very easy. At that time, you will make other people feel astonishing. Each work had their own hardships, if you don not do it, you will not know it. So don not think some works are easy to do, hard work is a successful key to open approaching door.
In conclusion, I learned many skills from this work such as social interaction and face the stress and so on…….. Of course, I like this job although there was much sadness in it. But I had a good manager. I thought it was value. I knew it was good for me. Like a Chinese idiom said that if you want to see the rainbow, you must undergo the wind and rain. I hope next summer holiday, I can come here and work here.

The Taming of the shrew

On the evening of the December 19th, the GCA underground Drama society gave an indelible performance to over 300 people in GCA assembly hall. I went there with my classmates. Why this drama attended me. Because there were many advertisements in GCA. So I chose this drama to watch.
It is a ridiculous but funny story between Katharine, who is an intelligent, but grumpy shrew and a man, Petruchio, who tames her. In that night, I remembered that the best part is the bed scene. The ideal of making Fan and Cherry together on one bed excited the audience and it was the most impressive scene in the Taming of shrew. when I watched this drama, I hoped I can tame my girlfriend like Petruchio. I thought he is a successful man. I like this drama, I felt very excited about it. It also told many boys how to tame his girlfriends. I thought it was more useful in the life.
I thought the second success of the underground drama society provides a stage for GCA students to display their personalities and continuous support for charities. So I hoped I could act in next year.
By this drama, I learned more man’s skill. And I also know more about the girl such as which thing do they like best, which place do they like to go. I think it is more useful for me. So see you next year.

Religious service

In the 4th of April, I went to the church by myself. The church is in LuHe. I went to the church in the Sunday afternoon. He told me that many people went there in the Sunday morning. They have a ceremony to give voice to the god. If they had some problems, they can tell to god by this chance. So the god can forgive your mistakes. I did not believe it. But I think it was a good way to make people to arouse their natural instincts.
They also told me that I could not take picture in the church. It is impolite to the god. So I just took picture outside. I understand them. This was their rule. This was only one church in LuHe, so I chosen it to do my Bolg. I also asked them that how many are there in this religion in LuHe. He told me about two thousands people. I think it was a big number. LuHe is a small town; two thousands can represent that this religion had sway in there.
I think it was excited. Because there were many stories about the god such as how the god made the people. and it made me feel more realistic, just the god had stranded beside you. You maybe feel that you are a part of this religion. There were more different between Chinese story and the western story. Each of them has its charm. I like this experience and thank you for the worker in the church.

Act in a performance

In the end of the December. . The NFLS’s Art festival was hold in a big hall. I also acted in this art festival. This was my first time to act in these big events. I remembered one day that the teacher told us dancing club should act in this art festival. I felt very intensive. You knew I just became a member of the dancing club for a short time. I did not think I can do better in this acting. But, I also felt very excited; it was a chance for me. I can show myself in front of many people. So Only told us that we should act well in it, we should practiced it after school. In middle of this time, I wanted to give up, I felt tired about it. When I wanted to told only about this, I saw my partner working very hard. Although he falls down again and again, he also never given up. Thought carefully, I thought that I was a useless boy. I just faced a small problem and I had no ideal about it. So I gave up my ideal. I decided to work hard. I must make that performance to be wonderful and perfect. I knew you also a spectator in this acting. I thought you would watch my performance. It included many people’s hardships. We just acted in the stage for three more minutes, but we should practice it for a long and long time. Why people thought success was great, because they put the effect in it. In the end of this article, I want to tell you: if you chosen something, you must put effect in it.

Exhibition

I went to an exhibition with Christophere, Sandy and Sonia on 1st march. There was many beautiful artworks in this exhibition. So I would chosen one to introduced it.This artwork was decrising that two womens farm in the field. They flowed the Khan,then they used towel to wipe the perspiration off. From this we would knew how hard life they lived. In other words, why were they to made them so tired. I think that it was one way. They did these just for their family, for their children. Motherhood was always in this small thing, but it also made us felt sweet and warm. This picture also made me feel sad. From this artwork, you saw the second women. From her eyes, I saw a feeling of helpless. Suddenly , I thought my mother, she was too tired, as a son, I should did something to make her feel happy and relaxed. This was my duty. Finally , I would told you the chinese name of this artwork is “Mu ai wu jiang”. It means motherhood was longer than river. I also felt humiliating. In my family, I oftenmade my mother fell angry. I aofen made my bedroom disorderly. So she should spent more time cleaning my bedroom. You knew she is very busy. She should worked and studied together. During her free time , she also should took care of me. By this chance, I want to told my mother: “you were tired, you son was growing up, I could took care of you. “ From this exhibition, I knew a lot of thing. The important things I knew was that I should duty my mother. I will remember it forever……

Western restaurant

I went to a Swiss restaurant with Christophere, Sandy and Sonia on 15th Feb. The restaurant is under the first floor of Onent Department Store. We attended there at 10:30 a.m. We chose this restaurant because we saw the advertisement on the MAP magazine and we wanted to eat the Swiss Cheese Fondue and the Swiss Chocolate Fondue, but they did not have them in the restaurant.
We did not like the food there except chocolates. The chocolate there had very interesting shape. They looked like spiders. Sandy was afraid spiders so much, she did not eat any of them. I ate the “Prime Rib Steak” and it tasted very strange, sour and bitter and sweet at the same time. The MENU said that “Prime rib steak” was made by Grade “A” Rib Eye with Mushroom sauce and country cut potatoes. The meat was hard and it made my stomach felt uncomfortable.
Though I do not like the food, I like the environment. The lights and seats are suitable and comfortable. The air in the restaurant is fresh. There were some other people there. There were some parents with their children ate their together. The service in the restaurant this Swiss restaurant to all of my friends but I will also tell them I do not like the food there.
This was one thing that it makes me to be interested in. This is Swiss chocolate. It was too delicious. I like it to much.
In all, today is also a meaningful day.

volunteer work

I did the volunteer work for Ms.bartell. I worked for her for about six times , ten hours fourty minutes in total. From this volunteer work, I felt that I was growing up, I was not a child any more. I have and unpaid to dedicate for the society.
On 20th of December, I remembered that I helped Ms.Bartell enter the data of blog into Excel. Each student should send their blog links to Ms.bartell. So, I helped her to check it. It was really a huge process. First, I should check it from Ms.Bartell’s G-mail, then you should collate their names and students’ numbers to finish this work. This was also my first time to do this kind of volunteer work. I felt it was poignant and answerable. This volunteer work did not help me learn more new skills, but it told me you should do everything on duty. You are the young person. You should learn how to plan your things and how to make your life more organized. Nobody will remind you to do everything, you should remind yourselves what you should do and what to do. It is your own duty.On 26th of December, I helped Ms.Bartell buy postcards and did paper cut for her. It was very interesting. It was my first time to go to the post office. Before this time, I was a very introverted person. I do not like talking with other people. However, post office is a public place. If you want to know more information, you have to talk to other strangers. You should try your best to deal with your relationship better and better. In the staffroom, Ms.Bartell described the picture on the postcards and told me the color of the stamps. But I still know nothing about the stamps in my mind. I will tell you why I was so brave to go to the post office. I thought when I went to the post office, I told those salespeople in the post office all the information about the stamps, they would know what I was talking about. I should believe myself . Then when I went to the post office by myself, I felt very confident. I bought the right postcards and stamps for Ms.Bartell. From this volunteer work, I learned many personal skills. Such as when you are in a public place, you should pay attention to your demeanor. If you give people a polite feeling, you will successes easily. At the mean while you should make many friends. So you should pay attention to it. Now, I also know how to use the cut machine. Maybe you think it is too easy, but if you want to make the paper more tidy, you should let the paper and the knife’s edge on a line. Then you will make the paper tidy. I really learned a lot of skills from the volunteer work.

club

I joined the GCA dancing club this year. I thought it was my best choice and also my worst choice. I said it was my best choice because I like dancing very much. However, dancing always made me very tried as well. Sometimes, I hurt myself because of dancing. So it was also my worst choice. Although it was both my best and the worst choice, I chose it by myself, I would never give up easily. I should work hard.
I remembered that my first performance was at the NFLS Sports Meeting. We prepared the performance for about one month. We practiced dancing even during the National Day Holiday. My hometown, LiuHe, was a region far away from school. I should took bus for about 2 hours to come to school for practicing. I always felt very tired but I never give up. I knew it was my responsibility to put my effort into my club. I learned a kind of dance called “Breaking”. “Breaking” was very difficult and dangerous for a new learner. We should had great body and good talent. You needed to work very hard if you do not had these abilities. I was the person who had to work very hard. I should have enough power if I want to dance well. So I often played the horizontal bar to improve my power. Except this , we also running. Sometimes we ran around the school playground before we practiced. Also, another way to improve your power was to stand upside down. However, it was very easy for us to fell down when we were practicing. When we fell down, we might hurt ourselves. From this, I also learned a new skill, that was how to protect yourself when you fell down. I learned that I should use my hands to hold my head, head was the most important. So, though “Brining” was dangerous, if we got the point, dancing can also be safe. By my club hardworking, we was successful in the school Sports Meeting. I felt very happy. After that, our club also danced for the Hollowing Party ,School New Year Party and some other activities.
As a dancer, I hope my dancing skills will be improved. I also want to be the Club Leader. I know that Only in grade twelve will withdraw the dance club. He will prepare for going abroad. So I hope I can be the leader of our Dancing Club. If I became the leader of the club, I will organize two matches during a month. I hope it can help them improve their skills.
From the dancing club, I know how to make I myself strong. Everybody will face some small problems, but I never be afraid of them. We only need to come up with a good way to work out them, the final success will belong to us. In GCA, we have this chance to join it. So I think we should take advantages of this to make ourselves exhaustive people. So I hope all of us can learn something from the club. Finally, I hope all of us can be successful in the club.

physical activities

Physical activities are good for our health. If you want to study very well, you should do more physical activities. As a boy, I like many sports, such as basketball, football and even dance. My favourite sports are basketball and dance. I know sports can relaxed ourselves. It can take away our worries. So during the Spring Festival Holiday, I played the basketball with my cousin. My cousin is younger than me, but I think physical activities are suitable for all ages even he is younger than me. In this days, I played the basketball about twelve hours.
My cousin told me that he wanted me to teach him to play basketball. So, I promised him. First, I told him some rules, such as you should not take three steps with the ball, you can only handed the ball twice, then you should tap the basketball and so on. Now, my cousin know many skills about the basketball, so I told him that a good basketball player should have the good skills, he or she also should have strong body. So when we play the basketball, I would run around the playground about three circles. At the beginning, my cousin did not understand me, he asked me why we should run before we practised. Then I remind a good way, I took him to watch the CBA (China's professional men's basketball). During the match, I told him that if you did not have a strong body, you will have no advantages. After looked at this match, my cousin knew the importance of the strong body. I did the sports with him together. Then , he put all his efforts to make himself stronger. He also played the dumbbell fifty times per time. I also told him that jumping was also important. Then I play the leapfrog to improve his jumping. He could not do it at all, he learned it very slowly. I was just like him when I first did it. Then I taught him how to shot. Practising was the most important way to shot, the more you practise, the more feeling you would get when you were shotting. So your shot was accurate. After this holiday, I desided to play basketball with my cousin every Friday for about two hours per time. I felt very full and happy when I was teaching.
From this physical activities, I got many benefits, such as I had a stronger body, I knew how to teach children, and I knew how charm the basketball was. From this physical activities, I learned that maybe I will be the coach in the primary basketball team, maybe I can be a PE teacher like Mr. Harris. Physical activities can promote better learning and life. So I think physical activities are the foundation of the learning and life. I like physical activities. It makes me stronger and happier.

Exhibition

We went to an exhibition on December 02, 2008. The exhibition of sculptures were made by Wu Wei Shan. The exhibition was showing sculptures. The artworks were made by one artist. Most of the artworks there were both traditional and contemporary.
My favorite artwork was a sculpture called “Lu Xun”. Lu Xun’s real name was Zhou Shuren. He was one of the greatest authers in Chinese history. He was called “China's backbone” when he passed away. From the artwork, it is just a head. But we can still see some Lu Xun’s special features, such as his beard, his hairstyle and his eyes. The colour of the sculpture is just like his skin. In this sculpture there are still many scratches, These scratches like Lu Xun's face wrinkles. We also can see one of Lu Xun’s eyes is big and the other is small. Why his two eyes have different sizes. We can contact it to the background of China. We know that he came up with a lot of ideals to make china become stronger. So,Wu Wei Shan made more details on this sculpture. Maybe he just wanted to tell us that Lu Xun worked hard for our country.
This artwork made me full of patriotic feeling. Lu Xun’s spirit effected me .As a Chinese student , We had an obligation and responsibility to study hard. I think many students do not listen Chinese classes very carefully in GCA. In fact, it was very impolite to the Chinese traditional culture. I hope our students can changed their attitude to work hard in Chinese class. Chinese classes were as important as Canadian classes. Try our best to make Chinese traditional culture more and more prosperous is also what Lu Xun want to do during his whole life.
This artwork also gave me a felling of fortitude. Whenever you encounter any difficulties, You should not give up. Just remember Lu Xun, he is your example. The shape of Lu Xun’s beard gave me this feeling. The curitor of the exhibition told us that Wu Weishan made Lu Xun’s beard very sharp to show others the fortitude that Lu Xun had.
I like the artwork very much because I like Lu Xun’s articles. In other words,I am a fan of Lu Xun. I know plenty of informations about Lu xun. I can claim to be his bosom friend.So when I first saw this artwork ,I have a special felling. I think I can understand the meaning behind the sculpture. I like the artwork very much.
Different people have different opinions. I think it is a good artwork,but you may disagree. So, I do not need to tell you if it is a good artwork or not. I just write my feelings about the artwork. I hope you can learn more about this artwork after I give you these introuductions.
